Counseling & Clinical Psychology Concentration

The Counseling & Clinical Psychology Concentration prepares students for employment, careers and graduate study in the field of Psychology as a helping profession. In the concentration students learn about a wide range of psychological difficulties, the theories psychologists have developed to understand them, the research methods employed to study them, as well as the techniques used to help people who are experiencing them. Students have opportunities to develop knowledge and practical skills with fieldwork experiences in mental health settings and to conduct clinically-relevant research. This concentration is well suited for students considering a future in the helping professions as a counselor, social worker, or practicing psychologist, or in research concerning problems in psychological functioning.
