Psychology / Education Double Major

The Psychology Department Academic Programs committee has now reviewed three Education courses for possible equivalency status in the Psychology major or minor.  The following are the equivalencies of these Education courses in the transformed Psychology major / minor:

  • ECE 201 - Child Development for Early Childhood Education: can be counted in the Psychology major or minor as PSY 220 (Lifespan Psychology). A student cannot count BOTH PSY 220 and ECE 201 toward the Psychology major/minor.
  • ELE 201 - Child and Adolescent Development: can be counted in the Psychology major or minor as PSY 220 (Lifespan Psychology). A student cannot count BOTH PSY 220 and ELE 201 toward the Psychology major/minor.
  • SPE 203 - The Psychological Development of Children and Adolescence: can be counted in the Psychology major or minor as PSY 220 (Lifespan Psychology).  A student cannot count BOTH PSY 220 and SPE 203 toward the Psychology major/minor.

It is our understanding that a student would not be taking both ECE 201 and ELE 201.
