Psychology Department
The psychology program is based on the scientific study of behavior, cognition, and emotion. Through in-depth exploration of psychological theory and research, students learn to investigate issues in biological, cognitive, developmental, counseling and clinical, industrial and organizational, social, cultural, and community psychology.
- 18 full-time faculty members who are active teachers, scholars and mentors.
- Major or Minor in Psychology, or Double Major with a variety of fields.
- Student-faculty collaborative research in state-of-the-art laboratories and field settings.
- Internship, field study, and community-based social action experiences.

- The application to transfer into the Psychology Department will only be available online twice a year: Sept 15 - Oct 1 and Feb 15 - Mar 1.

- The Mildred Dahne Award Committee is pleased to award this year’s prize of $8,000 for departmental and program excellence to the Psychology Department! Some of the departments highlighted accomplishments were: The recent Program Review, the concentrations offered to psychology majors, the number of students who authored/co-authored a paper or presented their research at a conference, faculty publications, the departmental ELOPsy system, and the new zero-credit courses designed for psychology students to enhance their success while an undergraduate at TCNJ.
